DIY Valentines for Snail Mail Lovers
/Hello, February!
To celebrate the re-opening of our shop, I designed a new, limited-edition "Love Letters" stamp set with this DIY Valentine in mind. With three simple cuts, you can create a mailbox that really opens!
Supplies Needed:
- 1 sheet of card stock for your base (4.25" x 5.5" per card)
- 1 sheet of paper for the mailbox
- 1 sheet of paper (or label paper) for the letters
- Scissors (an X-Acto knife is helpful, too)
- Craft glue or glue stick
- The "Love Letters" stamp set and a stamp pad OR Printable PDF | "Love Letters" (click to download) and printer
Optional:
- A2 envelope (my favorites are from Paper Source)
- Heart-shaped hole punch and scrap paper bits
- White gel pen
As always, the printable above is free for personal use only and may not be redistributed, copied, or sold. Please share the project with a link to this post. Tag us on Instagram with @prettypeaspaperie, #prettypeaspaperie.
Instructions for Stamp Set:
- Cut your sheet of card stock into 4 pieces, each 4.25" x 5.5". (Or, use pre-made blank cards like these.)
- Using a high quality stamp pad, stamp your mailbox onto one of your sheets of paper, then cut it out. Make 3 slits in the mailbox door: left side, top, and right side. (Hint: an X-Acto knife and cutting mat make this much easier!)
- Glue the mailbox onto the card. (Don't glue down the door!)
- Stamp your mini envelopes onto a separate piece of paper (or label paper, if you have it), then cut them out. Since each envelope is different, you can use a unique color for each one if you have multiple stamp pads.
- Glue or stick the mini envelopes onto your card.
- OPTIONAL: hole-punch hearts and glue 'em on, or add tiny white dots with your gel pen.
- Write a personal note on the back and mail to someone you love!
Instructions for Printable:
- Cut your sheet of card stock into 4 pieces, each 4.25" x 5.5". (Or, use pre-made blank cards like these.)
- Print the first page of the PDF—the one with the mailboxes—on a sheet of paper. Use your high quality (or photo quality) print setting for best results. Note :: Each 8.5″ x 11″ sheet fits 8 mailboxes plus 1 jumbo (BONUS!) mailbox. Cut out as many as you need. Make 3 slits in each mailbox door: left side, top, and right side. (Hint: an X-Acto knife and cutting mat make this much easier!)
- Glue the mailbox onto the card. (Don't glue down the door!)
- Print the second page of the PDF—the one with the envelopes—onto a separate piece of paper (or label paper, if you have it), then cut out as many as you want. Note :: Each 8.5" x 11" sheet fits 56 mini envelopes and 6 jumbo envelopes.
- Glue or stick the mini envelopes onto your card.
- OPTIONAL: hole-punch hearts and glue 'em on, or add tiny white dots with your gel pen.
- Write a personal note on the back and mail to someone you love!
Happy Valentine's Day!
